ADM Construction | Isle of Lewis Construction.
ADM Construction was formed in 1992 by Alex Murray who operated as a "sole trader" for approximately 4 years. An apprentice was eventually employed around 1996 and this became the start of a business expansion within the Construction Industry that has grown to what it is has become, gaining the respect of many satisfied clients throughout the Western Isles.
The business initially operated from Bakers Road until 2006 when the growing operation was moved to Parkend industrial Estate. The new premises were fitted out as a Workshop, enabling the manufacture of kit houses and extensions to be carried out.
This was also the year that ADM Construction became a limited company and initially employed an office administrator. ADM Construction now has 21 employees on the payroll including Joiners, Painters, Bricklayers and Slater's and a fleet of 9 vehicles including a lorry, pickups and vans. On site the majority of the work is carried out by their own plant including a digger, dumper and forklift etc.
Recently the Company has retained the services of a Quantity Surveyor enabling the Company to move onto larger contracts such as the Stornoway Town Hall refurbishment programme.
ADM Construction Ltd are commited to an ongoing programme of apprenticeship training and at present (2009) there are 6 apprentices, all at differing stages of their training.
